Mechanical Engineering Intern, Asset Engineering and Maintenance Department

  • Experienced working abroad at the Oslo and Arendal office in Norway for three weeks, quickly adapting to the Norwegian lifestyle and people, gaining insights into work culture, and learning deeply about BWO’s business

  • Designed topside general arrangement drawings for two new Green Ammonia FPSO vessels with AutoCAD 2D

  • Strengthened fleet’s safety and maintenance by assessing dew point corrosion in the dry operation of an existing FPSO’s heat exchange system through evaluation of suitable ASME grades of damper and casing materials  

  • Spearheaded stability check of a New Build turret system by computing weights of all equipment decks through analyzing vendor datasheets and 3-D Autodesk Inventor model, improving the accuracy by over 18%

  • Digitized the company’s manual for calculating Stud Bolt tightening values using Microsoft Excel for JIS and DIN flanges, previously only available for ANSI flanges, improving safety and communication with the offshore crew

  • Advanced practical knowledge of construction and routine operation of the topside oil production and offloading modules, turret, and mooring system of a New Build FPSO vessel at the Keppel Shipyard, Singapore

  • Managed a team of Singaporean and Japanese students from NTU and Nagoya Institute of Technology (NITech) respectively to develop an autonomous and sustainable nationwide end-to-end logistics system for year 2050

  • Designed the CAD model and technology for the port-to-city retrofitted network of maglev rail (“FreightMag”), distribution centres, and the bio-inspired wing design of last-mile delivery drone (“Ruri”)

  • Spearheaded the project report with a detailed explanation of each step of the “Jinsuko Logistics” system, offering cost-effective and innovative solutions to Japan’s problems with labour, economy, and sustainability
